准备上大学 offers high school students several pathways to earn college credit while still in high school, 包括双注册, 并发招生, 的信贷, 并定义了学习计划.  Many of these opportunities are funded in part or fully by the College and its secondary partners.

Under the auspices of the Strengthening 职业生涯 and Technical Education for the 21st Century Act of 2018, NMCC works in partnership with Maine’s CTE regions and centers, 他们的送学校, 商业与工业, and communities to prepare students for success in the workplace or at the next level of learning.

Students who participate in 准备上大学 activities while still in high school could gain the following advantages:

  • transferable college credits awarded for free or at a significantly reduced cost to the student;
  • less duplication of coursework at high school and college;

  • a more efficient and effective transition from high school to college.

这个程序, funded by the Maine Department of Education High School Aspirations Program, 缅因州社区学院系统和学院, enables qualified Maine high school students to receive a full tuition waiver at NMCC for up to twelve (12) credits each school year.  This applies to courses taken while simultaneously enrolled in a Maine high school. 双录取 allows students to get an early glimpse of what a college course entails, allows them to explore a certain program or area of interest while still in high school, and can help instill confidence for success at the college-level. Credits earned through dual enrollment (with a passing grade of C or higher) can be applied toward a degree or certificate at NMCC or be transferred to another post-secondary institution (acceptance of transfer credits is at the sole discretion of the receiving institution).

  • No more than twelve (12) credits per school year (inclusive of all courses taken for college credit at any post-secondary institution during an academic year).
  • Maine high school students (including homeschooled students) with school counselor approval.

  • Students under the age of 18 must have a Minor Release form on file at NMCC.
  • Not to be used in conjunction with or as a replacement for any other tuition reduction program (except as stated above currently available for Maine high school students (e.g. 提前录取、桥牌等.).

NMCC has partnered with several 职业生涯 and Technical Education (CTE) centers throughout the State of Maine to offer college-level courses during normal school hours. 课程设置因地点而异, 但可能包括焊接入门, 医学术语, 商业入门, 会计原理, 和更多的! All 并发招生 courses are taught by qualified CTE instructors with the College’s syllabus and materials.  Students earn both high school and college credit for their work. Credits earned through 并发招生 will apply toward a degree at NMCC or can be transferred to another post-secondary institution (acceptance of transfer credits is at the sole discretion of the receiving institution). Interested students should check with their regional CTE center or guidance counselor to see what 并发招生 options are available.

 


开始

开始 is a high school-to-college transition program designed to help high school students who are undecided about their future learn more about their college options. 开始 offers students individualized encouragement and guidance through the college admissions process and personalized financial aid support in their senior year.

开始 students who do choose to attend a Maine community college are then eligible for a two year scholarship and continued personalized support and guidance in college. High schools select students to participate in their junior year and then nominate seniors for the scholarship opportunity. 该项目在全州80多所高中开展.
